Valencia #2

A little delay, but you’ll read all about that in my next blog. This was already my second week in Valencia, and wow, time is flying! I can hardly believe that another week has already passed. Normally, spending a week in Valencia would already be quite a long city trip.

This week was all about my first party, working out a lot, and exploring the city on foot. Because let’s be honest, walking around is probably the best way to discover the most beautiful and fun little places here. I have to say that walking during the day can definitely count as a workout with the temperatures here, but I’m certainly not complaining. I’ve already experienced my first rain shower as well. Luckily, it wasn’t too bad, because it can actually get pretty stormy here, with rain coming down in buckets.

On Thursday evening, it was time for my first party here. I’m normally always up for a party, so when my friends suggested it, I quickly said yes. After all the working out and walking I had done this week, I felt like a party was a pretty good way to make up for it. And it was definitely a success! I’m lucky enough to already have two friends who currently live in Valencia, which means I don’t have to do these kinds of things on my own or first find new people to go with.

I share the apartment I’m living in with three other girls. On the one hand, it’s nice to have other people around in the apartment, but on the other hand, you obviously have to take them into consideration as well. I have a lovely room that I’ve already made feel a little more like my own, with photos, cards and some accessories. It quickly makes the room feel more personal and more like ‘home’. Even so, I do miss having my own place back in the Netherlands, where I could do whatever I wanted, didn’t have to take anyone else into consideration, and had all my own things around me. On top of that, it was already time to say goodbye to one of my roommates. That’s how quickly things can change here.

Sunday was time to pack my suitcases again. We’re definitely not heading home yet, but we do have some fun trips planned for the next two weeks.
